In my experience what you are doing is correct but you could try the <a href="http://sourceforge.net/projects/types/" rel="nofollow">forum for Types at sourceforge</a>, they might be able to help out. I have since see another program called <a href="http://defaultprogramseditor.com/" rel="nofollow">Default Programs Editor</a> which looks really good although I haven't actually tried it yet.
